Actress and singer Maria de los Angeles de las Heras OrtÃz was born and elevated in Spain in the bosom of a blue-collar family. While Maria was perusal at Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, she started to get charmed by music. Supported by her grandfather, Maria participated in festivals and radio station contests. In 1976 RocÃo Dúrcal met Juan Gabriel, and he convinced her to perform a popular Mexican dash known as ranchera. In the '80s, RocÃo Dúrcal moved to quixotic ballads, working along with striking songwriters such as Juan Carlos Calderon, Roberto Livi, and Marco Antonio SolÃs. After a three-year battle with cancer, Dúrcal died in her home in Madrid on March 25, 2006.
